One rainy night, Meggie's father, Mo, reads aloud from Inkheart, and a cruel, evil ruler named Capricorn along with his knife happy henchman, Basta, and Dustfinger, a man with nothing but a scared face, an old backpack, and a horned marten, escape the boundaries of fiction and land in their living room. Suddenly Meggie and Mo are smack in the middle of the kind of adventure that only can be read in books. They attempt to escape to the horridly real nightmare but are imprisoned instead. Meggie discovers the gift her father has and also finds out where her mother really disappeared off to. Meggie, Mo, and their relative Elinor get caught up in the fantasy they never would have thought to be possible. Meggie learns how to cope with their sticky situation and how to harness the magic that her father has conjured up.I found this book verrrry enjoyable to read. It's basically about a girl who loves to read it's very easy to be able to relate to that. It's 534 pages in the paperback edition and it's a quick paced book. Highly recommended for those who like adventure and for any one who has wished they could be in a books' story. Out of five stars, I'd give it five stars.
